True Creations Woodturning – Home
We are excited to now offer streaming Interactive Remote Demonstrations (in addition to live demos and classes) to woodturning clubs around the world. Using director software to control multiple cameras, large models, PowerPoint presentations and two way streaming capabilities, the audience experience is just like I’m there in person.
Here is a short YouTube video that shows what an Interactive Remote Demo experience is like from me:
Read our latest featured article The Sensational Skew, Simplified from the April 2019 issue of American Woodturner, the Journal of the American Association of Woodturners.
We are very excited to have been selected to demonstrate at the 2019 AAW Symposium July in Raleigh, NC. I hope you were able to attend one of my rotations on The Sensational Skew. We had a blast teaching over 250 attendees all about the “Dance of the Woodturner” body movement when using the skew and spindle gouges.
At True Creations Woodturning, we focus on three areas:
For over 16 years, we have been designing, testing, perfecting and producing a line of spinning tools. We sell our drop spindles and other tools through fiber shops around the country. Our spindles include drop spindles, Turkish spindles and supported spindles such as Russian, Orenburg, Navajo and Tibetan. Other fiber tools used in the spinning process include nostipennes, niddy-noddies, support spindle bowls, wpi (wraps per inch) gauges and orifice hooks. The tools are made out of a variety of FSC® certified North American hardwoods and exotic hardwoods from around the world. The Forest Stewardship Council is an international organization that helps manage the world’s forests by setting standards, certification and labeling of forest products. If you are a fiber shop and want to increase your sales by offering your customers fabulous handmade spinning tools and high performing drop spindles, please contact us to discuss our wholesale program. If you want to purchase a True Creations spindle, please visit our on-line shop.
Second, we offer custom woodturning services. If you are a homeowner, contractor, an architect or a woodworker looking for an experienced woodturner to help you complete your special project, you came to the right place! We can turn just about anything ranging from tiny knobs for a jewelry box to 8 foot porch columns. Our specialty is architectural and furniture restoration projects. Over the years, we have turned replacement balusters, newel posts, chair parts, beer taps, table legs and parts for spinning wheels. Even though our studio is located in a suburb of Rochester, NY in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region, we have done projects for customers all over the country. Contact us to discuss your project. We’d love to partner with you.
The third area that we focus on is education and learning. We offer private woodturning instruction and classes in our fully equipped studio. We demonstrate woodturning for clubs and write articles for major woodturning publications. Visit our Learn to Turn page to download articles, read tips and watch videos. Also, check out our Facebook Page and Instagram Page to see what we are working on. There is always something interesting on one of our lathes for you to see or learn about. Contact us to schedule a class, live demonstration or an Interactive Remote Demonstration.
True Creations Woodturning is one leg of our True Creations empire. The second leg is Kathy’s True Creations Quilting (tcquilting.com) long arm quilting service and on-line shop. The third leg is my on-line shop for fiber tools, True Creations Spindles (tcspindles.com). Check them out too.
So sit back and take a look around our site. Please share or like anything you see that you like to help us spread the word.
Then contact us to inquire about purchasing our products and services or to schedule a demonstration or class.
