A Glimpse of Our Work

Customer demand for tools such as orifice hooks, kick spindles, nostepinnes, dizes and support spindle bowls has helped us grow our product line. As time went on, we also added shawl pins, spindle earrings and a line of collectible spindle ornaments. We are also willing to make special request tools for our customers such as Navajo and Akha spindles. We often make several prototypes for new tools and have them tested and evaluated by expert spinners. This ensures the tool is functional, comfortable to use and beautiful.

Diz

Our Dizes are little wooden bowls. They are about 2 ¼” in diameter, ½” deep and only 1/8” thick. We drill 4 holes, 1/16”, 1/8”, 3/16” and ¼” for you to pull your fiber through. Even though they are thin and lightweight, the design makes them very strong. Sanded silky smooth and finished with a natural gloss finish.

Orifice Hook

Our orifice hooks are dual purpose tools with their built in WPI gauge. Anytime you can combine two jobs into one tool you have a winner! The handle is turned from hardwood and utilizes a stainless steel wire/hook. The handle is about 4 inches long and has a bead detail on the end so you can tie it to your wheel if you desire.

Nostepinne

Nostepinnes are hand turned out of North American cherry. They have a gloss finish that feels wonderful in your hand. The design was tested and loved by our expert spinning partners. Our nosties are ¾”-1” in diameter and between 10” and 11” long. The notch near the tip is used to tie off your fiber to help keep your ball neat and tidy.

Support Spindle Bowl

Our support bowls are turned from North American cherry. Each one has a unique design. They have a shallow dish, which is favored by the guru of lace enthusiasts across the US, Galina Khmeleva, owner of Skaska Designs and author of Gossamer Webs: The History and Techniques of Orenburg Lace Shawls and Gossamer Webs
